Grace La Penna

Yoga has been a constant in Grace’s life, taking on different roles at particular times. Being taught meditation as a child and eventually learning the physical practice as a young adult, yoga felt like a safe haven after spending years in the world of competitive ballroom. Vinyasa was a way to blend dance, breath, movement, and prayer.  Balance is key, stillness just as important as movement. Discovering the healing properties of quiet and calm transformed her view of the asanas as she discovered restorative yoga. Finding peace and serenity exactly where we are is always at the forefront of her practice. Always a student, she loves to connect with those in class, as we’re all learning from each other.

Grace completed her 500-hr teacher training at Laughing Lotus NYC, and restorative intensive/teacher training with Judith Lasater in 2013. After moving to the Hudson Valley she taught at Satya Yoga in Rhinebeck before owning her own business Mountain Float Spa until 2021. A few of her ballroom titles include, NJ Dancesport American Rhythm Pre-Champ Champion/National American Smooth Finalist Novice/National Finalist for Cabaret 2009. She is excited and happy to be returning to teaching yoga and ballroom. She currently resides in Kingston with her husband and two children.
