Welcome to
The Yoga House
The Yoga House was founded in Kingston, New York in 2011 with a foundational belief that the practice of yoga should be enjoyable and foster community. A belief that has carried over through a change of ownership, a global pandemic, new locations and in our hope for the future.
Creating and maintaining a fully inclusive space is at the forefront of The 'House ethos. Joyce is originally from Queens, NY and is first-generation Filipino-American. Amy currently resides in Kingston and is a proud wife and mother of a queer family. Being a BIPOC/LGBTQIA+ owned business provides us a lens through which we strive to program a wide variety of classes, contribute to the community, and provide access to teachers who are diverse and welcoming to all.
We know that folks come to the practice of yoga for different reasons. For Joyce, coming to the mat helped to take life down a notch, which led to sleeping better, and being less reactive. For Amy, yoga offered healing from heartbreak and athletic injury, and that led to a deep dive and commitment to the practice.
We continue to educate ourselves so that we can offer an expanding wealth of care for others - from learning to more articulately acknowledge the deep roots of yoga philosophy and history, to staying abreast of the most cutting-edge biomechanical and anatomical principles.
Our second location in Highland, New York was opened in July of 2023, with a heartfelt belief that practicing yoga together creates togetherness and wholeness. We hope to continue to share our unique community-minded approach to fully inclusive wellness practices to Ulster County residents and beyond. And, we've expanded our offerings to include other modalities: Pilates, fitness, sound healing, and more...
The Yoga House is our home, the place where we've settled our hearts and expanded our care for one another and ourselves. We appreciate your trust in us, and in doing so, we promise to help you foster a greater trust in yourself.
