Cathy Murphy
Cathy took her first yoga class in college, where she also discovered a love of modern dance. After college, she earned an aerobic dance certification and taught classes as a side hustle for many years. She enjoyed sharing her love of movement and fitness in a community setting. She practiced yoga on and off for decades. The combined physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of yoga along with a sense of being part of a class community make its practice unmatched. Yoga calls you back.
In trying to decide if yoga is possible through the next phases of life, Cathy completed her 200 hour YTT at the Yoga House in 2022 and discovered yoga is for all, at any age. Using what she’s learned, her goal is to provide a class that is welcoming, encouraging, and supportive and also benefits all participants by including strength, balance, flow, and time for a journey inward.
In her other life, Cathy has been employed as an IT professional at Marist College for over 35 years, holds a BA in Computer Science and Math, and an MS in Information Systems. She resides in Kingston with her husband and is the proud mother of two daughters. She enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her granddog; being out in nature, and traveling. Being 100% Irish, Cathy enjoys shenanigans & storytelling in all its forms.
