Testimonial: My back surgery years ago only reduced the frequency of my sciatic pain. At the recommendation of my physical therapist, I decided to give YOGA a chance. My Facebook friends suggested Ami and they were right. I had some serious doubts about this, but I was proven wrong. Ami‘s straightforward approach to daily stretching for only 15 minutes not only stopped my pain, but also gives me extra energy.

Philosophy Intensive Module with Leigha Butler, May 17-19

Philosophy: Living the Texts of Yoga

May 17-19, 2019

Teacher: Leigha Butler

YTT 200 hour, yoga teacher training, hudson valley, kingston, ny, modulesTogether the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras form the backbone of the yoga system. One of the most beloved and widely read texts in the world, the Gita, is just as valuable to yoga practitioners today as it was when it was written over 2,500 years ago. Likewise, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras is a still-relevant, totally accessible and indispensable guide for each and every soul who sets out to practice yoga in any form. Over the course of the weekend, Leigha conducts easily digested lessons that break down the most salient concepts from each text. You will walk away with a strong understanding of yoga’s foundational principles and a practical plan for incorporating them into your day-to-day life. Learn:

  • Essential yoga concepts and tenets from The Yoga Sutras and The Bhagavad Gita, like:
    • Establishing mental tranquility
    • Abiding by the 8-limbed path
    • Practicing consistently with non-attachment
    • Focusing on a single-pointed purpose or calling
    • Understanding one’s own obstacles and gifts on the path

Required Texts: (Please bring these)
