Intro to the Chakras

with Aaron Dias

Sat., Nov. 16
12:00-2:30pm
Midtown

The chakras are energy centers responsible for housing, processing and generating various kinds of archetypal energy. In this workshop you will learn the chakra system as a holistic template by which you can assess and address whatever has been arising for you in terms of physical, emotional and mental experiences.

We’ll do a yoga practice which will help you embody the teachings and learn how to ask for insight directly from your chakras. You’ll leave with a sweet, practical toolkit for continuing the work of understanding your chakras, healing them, receiving revelations from them, and accessing their ample gifts–these gifts which are truly YOUR gifts, in the most literal and original sense!

You’ll want to bring a notebook and pen/pencil + yoga stuff.

In addition, this module will arm you with the confidence and knowledge to teach safe, smart yoga asana alignment.

  • Alignment essentials for movement and held postures
  • How to apply knowledge of anatomy & alignment to your own practice
  • How to guide practitioners safely
Leigha Butler & Jacquelyn Nash

Having met in their 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, Leigha and Jacquelyn decided to plant their yoga roots in Kingston in 2011 when they opened The Yoga House in Uptown Kingston. While their styles of practice and teaching differ, their polarities bring a very balanced approach to sharing yoga with those training with them. Both have studied with various teachers, Leigha most recently with Shiva Rea and Jacquelyn with David Swenson, bringing combined knowledge from different approaches to the practice. While they joke about not reading anything but yoga books, they are continually filling their wells with new inspiration for their committed personal practices and the classes that they teach.
