This workshop has been canceled. Please check back for future offerings.

This workshop is designed for Intermediate and Advanced practitioners who would like to learn how to bring more Core and Shoulder strength into their practice. By using a wide variety of methods we can gain more strength and flexibility around the knee joint, hip joint, and rotator cuff.
Stabilizing these areas not only builds strength but also reduces the risk of injury in all forms of movement.

Upcoming Training and Intensive Learning Module – Yoga Teaching Methodology – Oct. 4-6, 2019

Teaching Methodology:

Designing the Experience

Oct. 4-6, 2019

Teachers: Leigha Butler & Jacquelyn Nash

What makes a great yoga teacher? What makes a great class? Develop your voice and cultivate existing skills to structure a yoga class that creates the complete experience.

Learn:

  • structuring a yoga class by building postural arcs and valleys
  • developing a teacher/class relationship and teacher/student relationship
  • how to hold space, creating a safe, judgment free environment for healing and transformation
  • methods and tools to find personal inspiration and then share that with the class
Leigha Butler & Jacquelyn Nash

Having met in their 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, Leigha and Jacquelyn decided to plant their yoga roots in Kingston in 2011 when they opened The Yoga House in Uptown Kingston. While their styles of practice and teaching differ, their polarities bring a very balanced approach to sharing yoga with those training with them. Both have studied with various teachers, Leigha most recently with Shiva Rea and Jacquelyn with David Swenson, bringing combined knowledge from different approaches to the practice. While they joke about not reading anything but yoga books, they are continually filling their wells with new inspiration for their committed personal practices and the classes that they teach.

Hours:

Friday: 7:00(or 7:30)-9:30pm Midtown Studio
Saturday: 11:30-5pm Midtown Studio
Sunday: 11:45-4:45pm Midtown Studio

Please note that the first half hour of the Friday session will be designated for those who are completing the training only. If you are not in the training, the Friday session will begin promptly at 7:30pm.

The full moon is the most powerful of the lunar phases. It’s an opportune time to turn inward and let go, the intensity and light of the moon illuminating that which no longer serves us.

Join Rae Broderick as she creates a safe and grounded space for you to explore the significance of the full moon and how you can use its wisdom to show up more presently in your life. In addition to gentle yoga and meditation, each workshop will include a ritual specific to harnessing the magic of the moon. Expect, for example, sage, essential oils and some crystals. All are welcome.
