A FREE Baby & Me Class – Fri, Aug 16th – with Tracy Lerman – 11:00am-12:00pm

Baby & Me!

with Tracy Lerman
Fridays, 11:00am-12:00pm

Uptown

Need some time on the mat but don’t have someone to watch baby? Bring baby along to this Baby & Me class, designed for parents of babies to reconnect with their minds, bodies and breath through a gentle flowing yoga practice. Bring a blanket and a favorite toy to occupy Baby while you strike an “asana.” It’s up to you if you’d like to incorporate baby into your practice, and anything goes in this class, so take a break to feed, change or cuddle Baby if the moment presents itself. For babies 18 mos and younger.

Tracy Lerman committed to yoga ten years ago as a physical practice to counteract the many hours spent sitting in front of a computer while in grad school. She discovered The Yoga House a few years later and completed their 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2016. During those years and the years to follow, yoga became a spiritual practice for her, providing solace for some difficult things she was experiencing in her life. She loves that yoga has taught her more about the way her body and mind works and how, even if she’s been away from her practice, it’s always there for her to come back to. Tracy is excited to bring yoga as a form of radical self love to everyone, and especially parents and babies! She is a mom herself to a cute little human named Iyla and a cute medium sized dog named Daisy.

Yin & Restore
with Joyce San Pedro
Tuesdays, 5:30-6:45pm
Uptown Studio

An all-levels, slow-paced class focused on deep stretches and longer holds — a perfect complement to the active, fast-paced lives many of us lead and to the more muscular practices of yoga. Yin & Restore encourages you to relax and restore the body, mind, and spirit through active relaxation and practiced stillness. With the support of props and fewer-but-longer holds, beginners and longtime practitioners alike can release built-up tension by accessing the deep connective tissue, calming the nervous system with patience and presence.

How you do anything is how you do everything.

Yoga has helped Joyce approach anything and everything with a calmer spirit, a more open heart, and a quieter mind. She began practicing in 2007 while on vacation. The seed was planted, and upon her return to Los Angeles she studied with Bryan Kest, Jerome Mercier, Jay Co, and Vytas Baskauskas. Raised with the travel bug and often traveling for work, she’s had the fortune of studying with various teachers and multiple styles throughout the US as well as Brazil, Bali, England, Italy, Canada, and New Zealand. She returned to her roots in NY and completed her RYT 200-hour training at Hudson River Yoga. While currently focusing on Ashtanga yoga, Joyce also teaches Vinyasa flow, Yin / Restorative, and Yoga for Seniors. She believes that when it comes to yoga, we are our own best teachers and works to guide her students on an internal journey by way of breath, asana, and mindfulness.

Community Class – Thursdays, 5:30-6:30pm at Uptown with our YTT trainees & graduates – Begins June 20th.

Join our current trainees and yoga teacher training graduates for an open-level flow every Thursday evening at Uptown. You’ll be taught by not one but two teachers — one acting as the lead teacher and one as the support person who is there to offer additional adjustments and general support.

We are so proud of this emerging group. They’ve been able to absorb so much over the last eight months, and we trust them fully to provide a mindful, fluid, informed flow for multiple levels of practitioner. Beginners welcome.
