We have an ongoing prenatal class for moms-to-be and their partners on Sundays from 11:45-1:15pm. Join us weekly, or feel free to drop in.
The class is very gentle. Our aim is to create an environment of non-judgment, safety, and calm for partners so that they can draw upon the postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques we’ve practiced when the big day comes. Although the standard focus in a prenatal class is on mom, we remember that the day can be overwhelming, sometimes even frightening, for dad or partner too. With that in mind, we tailor the class to meet the couple’s individual and combined needs. A typical class is composed of mostly seated postures, many hip openers, a few standing postures, some partner poses, and then a restorative posture for the mommies while daddy or partner works on a strengthening posture or another guided sequence.
Some students have absolutely no experience with yoga, others have practiced for years. Even the most intimidated or disinterested partners will discover a loving, comfortable, nurturing, and fun environment. The class is also a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents and parents-to-be.
