Renew You 2014 Takes Place Saturday, January 11 at Cornell Street Studios; Fundraiser to Benefit Building of New Playground at Kingston’s Forsyth Park

Leigha and Jacqui will be there hosting a table and running a 25-minute Vinyasa Flow class at 11:00am.


KINGSTON—The area’s most sought-after fitness instructors and experts in health, wellness and beauty join forces Saturday, Jan. 11 for Renew You 2014, a fundraiser of the provisional class of the Junior League of Kingston. Spend the morning working out and getting pampered at Cornell Street Studios, sponsor of Renew You 2014, while raising money for Kingston Kinderland II. The fundraiser takes place 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the studios, 168 Cornell St. Registration and the expo begin at 9 a.m. Classes, approximately 25 minutes each, begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at noon.

Move your body during a variety of fitness classes, including Nia with Summer Corrie, Zumba with Alicia Bailey, Mat Pilates with Chelsea Streifeneder, Butt & Gut Bootcamp with Che Sharp-Jackson, Gentle Flow Yoga with Cat Barney, Hula Hoop with Elizabeth McGovern, Dance It Out, Vinyasa Flow Yoga with The Yoga House, and DXF (Dance Xross Fitness), the homegrown sensation. (More classes will be added to schedule. Instructors and classes are subject to change.)

Take a break from working out to sample products and services from experts in fitness and dance, natural beauty, chiropractic and massage, nutrition, life coaching and meditation. Want to spruce up your wardrobe – or home – for 2014? Browse the handmade crafts, jewelry and clothing, and vintage fashions for sale throughout the galleries of Cornell Street Studios. The Junior League of Kingston will be on hand to present its plans for Kingston Kinderland II and answer questions about this exciting project.

Inclusive cost of Renew You 2014 is $20 cash at the door. Snow date is Saturday, Jan. 18.

Note: Please bring non-street sneakers to class to help protect the dance studio floors. Space is limited for each fitness class demonstration. A line will form 10 minutes prior to each one.

Saturday – The Laughing Buddha Class, 9:30am & 12:30pm

Laugh, play, and find peace with The Yoga House’s Jacqui Nash and Leigha Butler. In this team taught class suitable for all levels, be surprised by your own power, beauty and calm. The class will have a natural arc: we’ll start with a luxurious warm-up, then rev you up into strengthening and playful poses (falling and giggling totally natural!). We’ll wind you down with deep, restorative poses and a brief essential-oil Thai yoga massage.

Sunday – Our Community Class, 5:00pm

Be moved and get moving with Jivamukti-trained teacher Craig Milano who will teach a well-rounded class suitable for all levels, including beginner. Craig’s creative hands-on adjustments promise to move you deeper into your poses while his earnest spiritual guidance and focus on breath move you deeper in to your Self.
