Restorative Yoga

with Sally Delmerico

Mondays 10-11:15am, Uptown

Begins Sept.11th

What better way to start your week than Restorative Yoga? This class provides a peaceful atmosphere to allow the body, mind, and spirit to rejuvenate itself and prepare for the week ahead. The mind finds space through the breath to be open to new ideas and patterns. When you leave a class you will feel at ease physically and emotionally.

 

Family Yoga

Wednesdays 4:15-5:15pm, Midtown

$18 to drop in per 1 adult + 1 child aged 4-10

Share yoga with your child! Through yoga games, story-telling with our poses, and simple partner yoga with your child, incorporate relaxation and breathing techniques into your family’s life.

Slow Flow

Honor the spirit of unwinding by moving at a sweet and mindful pace, building a slow-burning heat that prepares the body for opening and lengthening. Experience a transformative effect on body and spirit. Leave feeling lighter, more joyous, and centered.

Ashtanga, Led Primary Series

This class is dedicated to the sacred practice of Ashtanga Yoga. It is a led Ashtanga class where we will do the Primary Series, or Yoga Chikitsa, at each class. Read more about this style of yoga here.

 

Yin Yoga

Kayleigh Stack The Yoga House Kingston Hudson ValleyYin’s meditative quality fosters the development of patience, ease, and calm. In this class, we hold seated and supine poses for about five minutes each. During this time, the teacher will offer alignment instructions and refinement cues, followed by a brief reading or poem, and then we will spend about two minutes in sweet silence during which time each practitioner is encouraged to find his or her own comfort on the mat. Suitable for all levels including very beginner.

Share your practice with your child or discover the world of yoga together!  This class is designed for families to explore yoga and mindfulness at a playful, kid-friendly pace.  Through yoga games, story-telling with our poses, parallel practice, and simple partner yoga with your child, incorporate relaxation and breathing techniques into your family’s life, establish boundaries for your home yoga practice, and learn how to Play Yoga with your child. This class is geared for adult yogis of any level (newbies strongly encouraged) and their child partners (ages 4-10).  One adult per child is ideal, so the class fee is per adult-child couple.  $18 to drop in. Have questions about if it’s right for your family?  Give a call!  And check out the free sampler class on September 13th.

Looking to introduce yoga to your 2 year old, but not sure how? This ain’t no ordinary book-reading. Our 30-45 minute story time will engage your child in a new way as Mel Toth, yoga instructor and previous childhood educator, has creatively combined stories and books with teaching your children yoga poses and yoga breathing. Your toddler will begin to understand his/her body and movement which will help with coordination, spacial awareness, and following directions.
