Tulum Retreat – Yoga, Meditation, Flow & Song – with Leigha Butler & Corinna Rae – April 15-22

Be Love Retreat in Tulum Mexico

The mission behind this retreat – Be Love – is to nourish the spiritual warrior in each of us.

Join my wonderful guest teacher Corinna Rae and me for a beach yoga retreat in beautiful Tulum, Mexico at the all-inclusive bohemian-style resort Maya Tulum in April of 2017. This is a chance to explore the Mayan ruins and jungle landscape of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula on the Caribbean Sea, all while deepening your yoga practice, absorbing a gentle ocean breeze, and setting life-affirming daily intentions.

Tulum Yoga Retreat Leigha ButlerThe sea in Tulum is as bright an aquamarine color as you can imagine. The sunrise boasts pastels and contrasting colors that are tough to capture on camera, and the friendly community is off the grid but features comfortable amenities, fantastic food, and many healing services, from massage to clay baths to sweat lodges.

TRANSPORTATION

Airport Code – “CUN” – Tulum is located about 75 miles south of the Cancun Airport. Last year it took us about an hour and twenty minutes to get to our resort.

Getting from Cancun to Tulum – Maya Tulum is very happy to arrange transportation for you from the airport to the resort. It’s a good idea to confirm this when you book or ask about alternatives. There is a public bus, for instance; but we believe the shuttle is worth the price.

In & Around Tulum – Most everything is accessible in Tulum by foot or by bicycle, including the Mayan Ruins. Maya Tulum Resort has bicycles for rent.

The Great Beyond: Past Life Regression

A Workshop with Laurie Oliver

Past Life Regression is a doorway into the many journeys and incarnations our souls have taken. Many people have epiphanies about various patterns that become apparent through the experience of having a regression. Often times we return with those souls we have strong connections to. Sometimes it provides us an opportunity to get it right this time around. It helps to clarify our purpose for each lifetime and lessons learned.
Laurie Oliver is a psychic-medium, as well as a hypnotist specializing in Past Life Regressions. She uses her intuition as well as guidance from “The Other Side,” in a gentle, caring way to answer questions and offer support and healing from whatever life challenges present. Laurie also happens to be our genuinely beloved landlord here at The Yoga House.

A Workshop for Beginners with Amy Reed

Saturday, January 28th, 1:30-4:30pm

$35 for workshop only;

$50 for workshop PLUS 3 classes* (only offered to new students to The Yoga House)

hh-tyh2016_0495We’ve all heard of the widely known physical and mental benefits of a consistent yoga practice. We know that when we hear the word “yoga” we think of flexibility, stress relief and mindfulness. But for some, making that step to experience those well-known benefits is not as easy as walking out the door and getting to a class. Often people feel intimidated and unsure of joining a group class for their first experience. Many questions arise: What type of yoga should I try? What’s with all the breathing? If I’m not flexible, can I do yoga? Maybe you’ve already been to a class but felt too uncomfortable and unsure of yourself to return.

This 3-hour interactive workshop is designed to quell those hesitations and answer any and all questions that you might have about starting a yoga practice. We will cover the following topics:

  • A brief history of yoga
  • An introduction to pranayama (breath control) and meditation
  • An explanation of different styles
  • An introduction to common yoga terms
  • A look at some yoga postures and their anatomical alignment

The entire workshop is designed to encourage dialogue, questions and discussion for any and all topics. If you have a question, we are sure that many other people do, so ask away for us all, teachers and students, to learn about the hesitations that arise. We want to provide you with the foundation of basic yoga principles in order for you to feel comfortable when you enter a yoga class for the first time. Join 500-hr Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT), Amy Reed, for this open forum for any yoga-skeptics.

We have all necessary equipment (props, mats, straps, even water), so bring just yourself. Because we will be doing some postures, please wear comfortable, loose clothing.

(Please note, it is NOT necessary to take this workshop to come to a Beginner’s Class, which we offer of Monday and Friday nights and Thursday mornings.)

*3 Classes to be used within 30 days of first class at the studio.
